£33billion at a time when everything else is being cut… I commend your intention, but your logic is flawed if you think this is the sort of infrastructure that will make real difference to the economy. Why not take that and give the whole country true high speed internet. Allow people to actually work from home, remove the strain on the transport network that way. Then you get capacity back with so many other benefits as well!
