I have a really hard time deciding how to respond to these cowardly attacks in Paris. On the one hand I think we have to show support for the victims who were needlessly caught up in something they were not deserving of. On the other hand I would rather acts like this were the 4th item on the news. A footnote for the day. Something just tutted about and then ignored like you wipe shit off your shoe. Because the point of terror is to cause fear and the more we report on this, change laws around this the more we are accepting that ever increasing fear as just a part of society. It is very hard to acknowledge the impact on a few without it having an impact on everyone else.
MEDIA CENTER POSTS! (well, the board, CPU and RAM sat outside the case… details details… IT POSTS)
learn how to use your sodding phones Vodafone! Twice today they have managed to drop my call when either putting me on hold or taking me off hold… Both times they have not rung back
Vodafone… I WANT DIFFERENT HOLD MUSIC!
Please copy and paste this to your status if you’re constantly being asked to copy and paste things to your status by friends who copy and paste things to their statuses. Many people won’t copy and paste this, but my truly sarcastic friends will copy and paste it because they’re sarcastic by nature. If you don’t copy and paste it, then this means you hate bacon. And if you hate bacon, the terrorists win. And a unicorn dies. Please help the poor unicorn.
last day of work is almost over… but I am running out of energy for writing handover notes… not sure I will make it before I collapse…
Oh look, the media center is failing to boot again. That hardware was stable for years and the second you call it a media center you might as well just turn it off…. Nik are you cursing my stuff from afar?
So I have a new job! At the end of August I was told the company would be letting me go as they don’t have enough money. Thankfully they gave me a lot of time to find a new job (until the end of October) so I have had plenty of time to find something else. I start my new job at the beginning of November. I am going away from Salesforce and back to PHP and I am going back to travelling, but not nearly as much as I did before. I am going to miss working from home, but I am not going to miss never being able to leave work! This has been fairly stressful while searching as I have been looking for a nice long term move I was comfortable with. Not been made easier by all the stuff that has kept breaking. Thanks to the very few who I told and supported us, very much looking forward to starting something new.
I just noticed the last time I bought fuel for my car it was August… to put that into perspective for those with half decent public transport: since moving to the west country I have never had a month where I did not buy fuel before…
