would be nice if things would stop breaking… In the last 2 months Demelza’s computer motherboard died, the media center graphics card died, the Roomba battery gave up, one of the NAS harddrives just died, the boiler gave in. I’m all for wear and tear but this is getting silly…

Day 2 of heating issues… Close but not quite. We have heating! We don’t have hot water. Plumber made a mistake with the pipes. Turns out our old unit had the pipes reversed. Ordinarily I would say the plumber is at fault, but there have already been so many complex issues to solve left over by the house builder it just seems par for the course. He is back tomorrow at 8:30 anyway. Odd side effect of the new boiler, it is too quiet. Took me reading the manual and working out the symbols to work out it was on…
Oh what a day…. the new boiler is installed! Not to happy so fast… turns out it is dead on arrival. It won’t power on… As such it is having a Vaillant engineer replace the PCB tomorrow. Probably just a bit of bad luck… but seriously…
so finally D-Day has arrived for the boiler… roll on the warmth…
an excellent evening with Demelza and Chris playing our first game of monopoly. A tough game with all sides dug in… as expected…
And we have another terrifying achievement unlocked. Tilly now walks unaided down the stairs holding the banister…
